This week, PE Hub published a piece by SPS’s Brenden Gobell and Nadim Malik titled How PE firms can best distinguish themselves: buy-and-build and strong deal sourcing. Purchase multiples have been consistently at their peaks, and it may be more difficult for firms to sort through the noise of the competition. This leads to the question: How are private equity firms strategically adjusting to current market conditions to drive fund performance?
SPS considers two approaches: the buy-and-build strategy and analyzing deal flow from a business development standpoint. The favorable exit for add-on deals may be suitable for some, whereas leveraging analytics and automation to improve deal flow may also be beneficial.
